A high-gloss gelcoat over a compound organic volume gives that wet look permanently, in sun or shade. The mouth is soft and slightly irregular, because a perfect ellipse would make it a bowl and not a stone. A drainage boss and a rigid inner liner are standard, so the planter takes soil and water without the shell ever meeting either.
It weighs 26 kilograms. A terracotta pot of this size would be near 200, and would crack the first winter.
